Early Entrance to Kindergarten Process
- Parent and/or Guardian is required to apply for early entrance to Roseburg Public Schools Teaching and Learning Department by April 30th. NOTE: A child is only eligible for Early Kindergarten Screening if he/she will reach their 5th birthday by Nov. 1st of the school year for which he/she is seeking enrollment.

The child participates in various interviews/ assessments that will assess skills in the following areas of development: cognitive, academic, and social/emotional. The screening and evaluation will be completed by a licensed school psychologist and/or other educational professional.
Early entrance is recommended:
- Overall cognitive and academic score is > 115
- Overall social/emotional standard score is > 115 or the 84th%ile
- EvaluationTeam meeting and decision
- Progress in Kindergarten is monitored by Evaluation Team and a date is chosen for follow-up
Early entrance is not recommended:
- Overall cognitive and/or academic standard score is < or = to 115
- Overall social/emotional standard score is < or = to 115 or the 84th%ile
- Evaluation Team (including parent) meeting and decision
